HOW TO INSTALL IT

Before installing, check the compatibility notes for your model and rear suspension. Left and right refer to the motorcycle as viewed from the rider's seat, facing forward.

  1. Remove the seat to access the area beneath it.
  2. Remove the large plastic cover that is held in place by three bolts, revealing the subframe underneath.
  3. Locate the two bolts securing the passenger grab rail on the left side of the subframe. Carefully remove these bolts.
  4. Position the saddlebag holder on top of the grab rail mounting frame and fit the supplied bolts in place of the original bolts. Start both fasteners by hand and leave them loose until the holder is correctly seated and both mounting points are aligned.
  5. Check that the holder and its fasteners do not touch the rear shock absorber or its piggyback reservoir. If there is contact, stop and contact us.
  6. Once alignment and clearance have been checked, tighten the fasteners to the applicable torque specifications. Check that all fixings are secure.
  7. Refit the plastic cover using its original bolts, then refit and secure the seat.

Final clearance check: With the saddlebag fitted, check that the holder, mounting mechanism and bag remain clear of the suspension and other moving parts. Clearance must be maintained as the suspension moves; a gap while the motorcycle is parked is not sufficient on its own.

Consult the relevant Triumph service information before installation. If you are unsure about fitting, tightening specifications or suspension clearance, have the installation checked by a qualified motorcycle technician.

COMPATIBILITY GUIDE

+ Compatible with the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC / XE from 2019 to 2023 with original suspension.
+ For 2024 and later models, please read the suspension-specific notes below before ordering.
+ Left side only (exhaust-free side).
+ Accepts all Longride soft saddlebags, subject to adequate clearance on your motorcycle.

Marzocchi rear suspension - warning.
A customer with a 2025 Scrambler 1200 XE Icon Edition reported that the installed holder touched the upper housing of the rear shock reservoir. We do not currently recommend the holder for that configuration. Other Scrambler 1200 X / XE models with Marzocchi rear shocks may also be affected, compatibility is not confirmed.

2026 Scrambler 1200 XE — successful customer installation reported.
A customer reported successful installation using our Mini Patriot saddlebag with the Sidekick system, with no fitment issues. Their motorcycle had a Hitchcox aftermarket exhaust. This report applies to that particular setup and does not yet confirm fitment with every exhaust, suspension or saddlebag configuration.
