INDIAN + LONGRIDE

What do Longride saddlebags look like on an Indian motorcycle? Here you'll find customer photos, the luggage they chose, and the mounting setup behind each bike. First up: a black Indian Sport Chief from the UK, equipped with our Indian Panniers and Sidekick quick-release system.

Black on black, with a pair of bags that follow the bike's lines. This rider fitted our Indian Panniers in black to Longride saddlebag holders. The motorcycle is equipped with FOX rear shocks.

The rear view shows the pair together, with the bags sitting either side of the rear mudguard. It's a useful angle if you're trying to picture how the luggage will sit on your own motorcycle.

Same Sport Chief, shorter exhaust

A new backdrop and a different look for the same bike. Our customer sent us these next two photos after swapping the exhaust for a shorter system. It gives the Sport Chief a more compact, stripped-back look, with the same black Indian Panniers still very much at home.

How to mount saddlebags on your Indian

Our recommended setup combines model-specific saddlebag holders with Sidekick-equipped luggage. The holders provide the mounting rails; the Sidekick claw on the back of each bag connects it to the rail and lets you remove it quickly when you park.

  1. Choose the correct holders. Check your exact model and year in our Indian saddlebag holder collection. The Chief and Scout use different saddlebag holders.
  2. Choose compatible bags. We designed our Indian Panniers for the Scout Bobber, Rogue and Chief, including the Sport Chief shown here. Other Longride Sidekick saddlebags can work on selected setups; check the holder's compatibility notes before choosing.
  3. Set the mounting position. The Sidekick claw needs an initial installation on the bag. Position the luggage with clearance from the exhaust, suspension and moving parts, following the fitting instructions.

See how Sidekick works and watch the fitting guide.

Why choose the Indian Panniers?

We designed their shape around these Indian motorcycles. Waxed cotton and vegetable-tanned leather give them the Longride look, while an internal ABS shell helps them hold their form. The pair offers 23 litres of capacity, with carry handles for taking the bags off the bike.
