Ordering from the U.S.

Heads-up, riders: the U.S. now applies a tariff on gear coming in from Europe (that's us).
We can’t dodge the rules, but we can make the ride smooth.
Below is the full playbook: what you’ll pay, when DHL will ping you, and how to get your kit delivered without drama.

U.S. Shipping & Import Fees (Via DHL Express)

Short version: You pay product + shipping at checkout. When your parcel reaches the U.S, DHL will email/SMS you a secure link to pay U.S. import charges (tariff + small customs & DHL processing fees). Once paid, DHL delivers.

Why DHL Express? Their U.S. network is currently the most stable, with integrated customs brokerage, fast clearance, and secure online duty collection + proactive email/SMS updates and live tracking, to keep your delivery smooth and predictable.

PRO TIP: Always check where an online order ships from — Because U.S. tariffs vary by country.
For instance, goods shipped from India are currently taxed at about 50%, whereas EU‑made Longride gear generally faces only ~15%.

What you’ll pay to DHL (typical ranges)

  • Tariff (most EU‑origin Longride gear): ~15% of the item value.
  • U.S. Customs processing fee: usually a small fixed amount for courier entries.
  • DHL customs processing/advancement fee: typically about $15–$25 minimum per shipment.

Rule of thumb: total import charges are typically ~20–25% of the item price. Shipping charged at checkout is separate.

Quick examples (estimates)

  • $200 order: total import charges ~ $50–$70
  • $300 order: total import charges ~ $70–$90
  • $600 order: total import charges ~ $110–$130

These are estimates. The actual amount is set by U.S. Customs and DHL at import.

FAQs

Can I prepay duties/taxes at checkout (DDP)?
Not yet. During this transition we ship DAP for the U.S. We’re actively exploring DDP and U.S‑based fulfillment so we can offer prepaid duties and faster domestic shipping!

How will DHL contact me? Is it only email?
DHL typically uses email and/or SMS. You’ll get a secure payment link that references your tracking (AWB). Only pay via the official DHL link.

How much are the import charges exactly?
They depend on U.S. rules for your product category and the declared value. For most EU‑made Longride items, expect around 15% tariff plus a small U.S. Customs fee and a DHL processing/advancement fee (about $15–$25).

What if I don’t receive the DHL link?
Check spam and your SMS. If you still can’t find it, contact us with your order number and shipping name and we’ll nudge DHL.

How long do I have to pay?
DHL holds the parcel until import charges are settled. Paying promptly speeds up delivery.

Will I be charged U.S. sales tax at the border?
Import charges are tariffs/fees, not state sales tax. Any state/local taxes at checkout (if applicable) will be shown separately on your order.

What if I refuse to pay import charges?
DHL will return the parcel to us. Per our policy, original shipping and return shipping may be deducted from any refund since we incur those costs.

Returns & exchanges from the U.S.
We operate a U.S returns facility, so you won’t need to ship your item back to Europe. If a return or exchange is approved under our policy, we’ll provide a domestic U.S. return address and take it from there.
Please note: import charges collected by DHL (tariffs, customs & brokerage) are not collected by Longride and are not refundable by us.
Original shipping and any return shipping may be deducted from refunds in line with our policy.

Are there shipping disruptions?
We’re using DHL Express to minimize disruptions during ongoing U.S. policy changes. If anything material changes, we’ll update this page.
